Description

Small to medium-sized evergreen tree to 10 m tall, wild trees much taller. Leave pinnately compound without terminal leaflets, leaflets 1-7 pairs, 4-20 cm long, elliptic. Flowers 1-2.8 mm long, without petals, light green, fragrant, in axillary clusters.

Lowland forest, along

Distribution

streams and on hillslopes. NE India, Myanmar, Peninsular Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra and Borneo. Widely cultivated in villages of SE Asia as a fruit tree.

Uses

Fruits edible, tasting like litchi.
