Shrub to small evergreen tree c. 10 m tall. Leaves 20-35 cm long, oppositely arranged, oblanceolate. Flowers 5-7 mm long in terminal clusters, tubular, white turning pink. Fruits 2-3.5 cm across, a capsule, splitting into 2 when ripe.
Ecology
In rocky coasts to hill ridges, frequent in secondary forest and near streams.
