Description

Medium-sized or tall, deciduous tree to 25 m tall, without aerial roots. Leaves 6.5-15 cm long, elliptic, distinctly toothed. Figs 3-5 cm wide, pear-shaped with a short stalk, ripening rose-red, often streaked, arranged in big clusters on the trunk and main branches and borne on stout, woody and leafless twigs.


Ecology

Widespread by river banks.

Distribution

India, SE Asia to Australia.
