Hong Kong Orchid Tree, Blake's Bauhinia, Butterfly Tree
Description
Small semi-deciduous tree 6-10 m tall with open, irregular crown. Leaves bi-lobed, heart-shaped, 7-10 cm long. Flowers in terminal cluster, large, c. 15 cm across, deep pink, fragrant. Plant is sterile, fruits unknown.
Distribution
This hybrid was reported to originate from Hong Kong and widely planted in the tropics.
