Shrubby tree to 10 m with dense bushy rounded crown. Leaves c. 20 cm long, ovate with wavy margins. Flowers c. 5 cm across, tubular and flaring, dark orange, in terminal dense clusters. Fruits c. 5 cm long, pear-shaped.
Distribution
Native in the American tropics, S Florida (USA), the Bahamas, southwards throughout C America.
