Glow Vine, Purple Bignonia, Purple Funnel Vine
Description
Evergreen woody climber with tendrils. Leave opposite, bi-trifoliate, leaflets 5-11 cm long blade. Flowers in axillary to terminal inflorescence, 6-8 cm diam., tubular with 5 lobes, purple with white throat. Fruits flattened capsules, 15-18 cm long.
Ecology
It grows in the humid forests, at the margins of the clearings or climbing on the trees, from the sea level up to about 1000 m of altitude
Distribution
Colombia, Ecuador, Panama and Venezuela.
Uses
Cultivated as an ornamental.
