Description

Slender evergreen shrub to 3 m tall. Leaves opposite, 3-10 cm long. Flowers in sparsely branched clusters, pure white, 1.7-2.8 cm long. Fruit paired follicles, 20-38 cm long.

Distribution

Sri Lanka.

Uses

Widely cultivated as an ornamental shrub in Thailand and Malaysia. They rarely fruit in Thailand and Malaysia, plants are often propagated by marcotting and through stem cuttings.
